EASTER BUNNY - Actually the Eastern Cottontail Rabbit living under our carport shed...nice to see it for Easter.

WHERE THERE'S A WILL - An agile Gray Squirrel takes advantage of a loosely protected bird feeder. It is a loosing battle trying to keep squirrels from emptying bird feeders.

APRIL FOOLS- A Magnolia bud covered in snowflakes and frozen rain drips create an April Fools weather picture as Spring things are beginning to happen. The concept of April Fools may have come from the 1852 French calendar shift from the Julian to Gregorian calendar. Those slow to adopt to the change and who continued to celebrate in April were called "April fools." Yet, another theory suggest April Fools is merely tied to the unpredictable "tricky" weather of early Spring. I'm going with the latter.

PAIR APPARENT - Seeing two Herons together on the nest gives the impression the female has arrived to claim a nest with her mate. Another Heron was close by - awaiting his mate's arrival.

A RING ON IT? - A pair of Ring Necked Ducks on Mill Pond. Ring Necked ducks are fairly common in New Hampshire during Spring migration and several are stopping over on the shallow ponds in the area.
