FALL HAS FELL at the beaver pond. The color is gone from the mountainside and the water level is as low as we have seen it in 28 years, but it is still worth regular visits.

SPOTTED A CORMORANT - Not many diving ducks around this time of year - and I had to wait for the Double-crested Cormorant to surface to make an ID. Saw this one in a pond just outside of Jaffrey, NH.
CORRECTION - The Hawk in yesterday's POTD was actually a Red-Shouldered Hawk. Thanks to the bird-knowledgable friends that keep the POTD information correct.

HAWK EYE - When our TV streaming service mysteriously played the final episode of M.A.S.H. last night - it was appropriate that we saw a Red-tailed Hawk along the road today. If you remember watching that last episode of M.A.S.H., you are old enough to "get" the Hawkeye reference.

SOONER OR LATER - It was going to snow, even though the Turkey had a surprised look - sooner or later it was going to snow!

OH DEER - A young White-tailed Deer on the edge of the yard. This young one looks to be turning from its summer reddish-brown color to a more winter gray-brown color.
