YOUNG BUCK - A young male Deer is showing signs of his first noticeable antlers - which happens at 1-1/2 years of age.

LADY BLUEBIRD - A female Bluebird stands guard on the nest box with her second batch of eggs. The pair has already had one brood fledge when they started to hatch another batch of bluebird blue eggs.

PATIO GARDEN STARTING TO BLOOM - A Columbine Bloom. The flowers attract butterflies, bees, moths, and hummingbirds—but thankfully, not deer! This hardy plant is also quite resilient and drought-tolerant. Once started, columbine propagates for years and, although perennial, increases most rapidly by self-seeding. They have all but taken over our patio garden from self-seeding.

RESTING - A Tom Turkey takes advantage of the "No Mow May" tall grass to rest in the yard.

HERON CHICKS ON THE BEAVER POND - The Great Blue Heron chicks in nests on the beaver pond are getting big.
