UPDATE ON HERON CHICKS - The Heron chicks have fledged in more than half the nests at the beaver pond. The ones that have left the nest are hanging around the edges - together in some cases. It did not appear that any of them had their "fishing" technique mastered - in fact none of them seemed to be trying to catch anything. They may still be expecting to be fed by adults, even though they are nearly fully grown.
