WHO'S THAT ?- A juvenile Great Horned Owl perched at the edge of the beaver pond Monday. Just beginning to get his "horns", which are actually tufts of feathers that can be raised or lowered depending on the owl's mood. The function of the tufts is debated; they help camouflage an owl by breaking up the outline of the head, and they probably also play a role in displays.
