FIT AS A FLICKER - Female Northern Flicker, a type of woodpecker, works the bark on a maple tree. Two types of Flickers, the Eastern is Yellow-Shafted- just barely seen on the side of the tail. The Western Flicker has a red shaft on the tail.

SPARROW HEAD - White-throated Sparrow is a regular foraging under the feeders in Spring.

TOW HE HE HE - More birds are showing up in the yard every day. This male Eastern Towhee, AKA Rufous-sided Towhee, was rummaging under the feeders.

YOU YELLOW-BELLIED SAPSUCKER! - Not the "call out a coward" western movie kind - but an annual bird visitor that we welcome for it's distinctive tapping rhythm and sharp color scheme. This male showed up with his mate yesterday.
