ANTLER SPROUTS - Young male deer shows his antler buds while taking advantage of grass greening up in our yard. Each year male deer shed their antlers after breeding season. Each Spring as the days lengthen male deer begin to grow a new set of antlers. Antler growth is incredibly fast - in fact, antlers are the fastest bone growth in the world. A deer can grow six-point antlers in just 3-4 months.

FOREST STARTING TO BLOOM - Blooms of a Hobblebush Viburnum over the brook from the beaver pond. No forest wildflowers yet, so the Viburnum flowers stand out. Named Hobblebush for the tendency for branches to bend to the ground and take root - creating a tripping hazard for walking in the woods.
