BEAVER MOON - The last full moon of Fall - the Beaver Moon - is the biggest, brightest Supermoon of 2025.

IT'S NOT ALWAYS SUNNY at the beaver pond. Dark clouds over what's left of the color on New Ipswich Mountain.

FAVORITE FRUIT - A Hairy Woodpecker enjoying oranges in a suet holder. We have learned that all of the woodpeckers that visit our yard like oranges...which we keep out year-round now. (also, the bear is NOT interested in the oranges ;-)

CHUNKY JUNCO - Looking like it showed up in it's winter coat - a Dark-eyed Junco scrounges on the patio. Juncos are nicknamed "snowbirds" because their arrival in Fall is a sign that colder, snowy weather is on its way. Additionally the name may come from their "leaden skies above, snow below" coloration.

GOING PASTEL - Mount New Ipswich on the Wapack Range is going pastel for Fall. As Oak and Beech tree leaves still shine on the mountainside the Fall color is fading at the beaver pond.
