SOCK SCENE - Pine Siskins crowd the finch sock. A flock of Siskins are making things interesting at the finch feeder station.

NEW HAMPSHIRE ECLIPSE VIEWING - We watched the Eclipse through our colander in the front yard. Not as spectacular as the totality in my hometown, Vincennes, Indiana, but cool, none the less.

TAKEOFF - Pine Siskin launches off the shepherds hook toward the finch sock. A flock of Pine Siskins has joined the Goldfinches and Purple Finches at the feeders.

GETTIN' YOUR SNOOD DOWN - AH Spring...When the male turkeys start thinking about mating...and their tail feathers fan up and their snood hangs down. The snood is a fleshy protuberance above a turkey's bill that may also hang down over the bill when the Tom nears a mating situation.
