DRIPPY - My least favorite form of precipitation- freezing rain - drips the following day. Our see-saw weather includes some not-so-Spring like days.

FOXES RETURN - Fox Sparrows - which the field guide described as large, plump sparrows with a rusty rump - may not appreciate the description, but it fits. ;-) We see Fox Sparrows every year about this time - as more birds are coming back now that Spring is here.

OFF IN A SPLASH - A flock of Ring-necked Ducks spooked when I approached the edge of Mill Pond. Google says Ring-necked Ducks are common in New Hampshire ponds during migration - but we had not seen Ring-necked Ducks here in the past. This flock numbered 30 or so - and has been around for a few days now.

LOTS OF JUNCOS - We had a few Juncos around all winter - but have seen a really large flock in the yard recently. Probably just passing through on their migration North. The Dark-eyed Juncos we have in the northeast are called Slate-colored Juncos.

SPRING EMERGING - A Crocus bloom starts to push up through the foliage - a sign Spring has sprung in Southern New Hampshire.
