HERON CHICKS GROW FAST - Chicks in one of the Heron nests on the beaver pond are big enough to be seen over the side of the nest. Great Blue Heron chicks often take their first flight around 8 weeks and most are considered fully fledged and ready to depart the nest at about 90 days (roughly 13 weeks).
