NOT PLAYING POSSUM - A Virginia Opossum scrounges on the stoop for seed that has fallen from bird feeders. Opossums have a bad reputation, primarily due to their "scary" appearance. Despite the reputation, Opossums are timid, non-aggressive, rarely carry rabies and are beneficial for eating ticks, snails and pests. Deep snow is bringing all of the wildlife up to the bird feeders for what they can access to eat.

I love seeing their "star" prints in the snow! They are regular visitors under my deck all year round.
