POTD 9/13/25
ONCE MORE, WITH ATTITUDE - A female Belted Kingfisher on the beaver pond. In most sexually dimorphic birds (males and females look different), it is the male with the flash of color. In Kingfishers, it is the female with the second Rufous belt, while the male has a single dark belt and no second belt.

Your pond is full of treasures. I went to the Smithville Reservoir yesterday (basically across the street from me) and saw exactly ZERO birds and ZERO animals, They are all over at your place.
