LOVE THEM BUNCHES - Bunchberry is the smallest member of the dogwood family. What appear to be four large white petals are actually leaves that attract pollinators to tiny central flowers that explode open on insect contact. The pollen from the flower explosions travels to neighbor plants or is transported by insects showered with the pollen. (I learned this about Bunchberrys from Francie Von Mertens Harris Center Nature Almanac)
