POTD 8/13/24
DRINK UP - A male Eastern Towhee drinks from the bird bath. Most birds drink by filling their beaks with water, then tilting their head back, using gravity to send the liquid into their digestive tract. Some splashing may occur. ;-)

Nice. I suspect gravity delivers the water to the esophagus and swallowing then takes over.
