CAN YOU SPOT THE CHICK? - After many years of watching Herons on the beaver pond - I know to look closely when I see an adult Heron standing in the nest - because it usually means newly hatched chicks, this one barely big enough to raise it's head above the edge of the nest.

Another GAB photo. For the past 44 yrs I've seen Great Blue herons in my swamp but seeing them in a nest, no such luck.
