BEAVER POND INSECT CONTROL - Several bird species that live around the beaver pond eat bugs - but the most reliable and fun to watch is the Eastern Phoebe. They watch for prey from low perches (of which there are many at the beaver pond) and catch insects on the fly before returning, often, to the same perch. They are easy to spot and have a habit of wagging their tail often.

At some point when you covered most of the species in the northeast, your photos and descriptions would make a nice bird handbook.
