BABY BLUE - An immature Bluebird - maybe fledged from our neighbors birdhouse brood - spotted in the yard yesterday. Bluebirds are classified in the Thrush family (related to Robins and other Thrushes) and eat mainly insects and fruit, but in recent years some bluebirds have begun to frequent feeders, where they eat softer foods like the mealworms we bought especially to attract bluebirds.

So pretty! I love that blue on the wings but the dappled white chest and back, birds are so cool. :-)

Good job! This is the first time I've seen an immature bluebird, at least knowingly.
