SHOWIN' YOUR COLORS - A Male Ruby-Throated Hummingbird flashes his name-sake ruby colors. The iridescent colors of the male hummingbird are among the most refined and spectacular colors of all of nature. The structure of the feather surface amplifies one color of light, and the surfaces are angled so that they reflect that color only in one direction - straight ahead of the bird.
