SPRING BLOOMS EMERGING - Hobblebush Virburnum beginning to bloom along the brook. The name Hobblebush refers to the fact that the plant has pendulous branches which form obstacles which easily trip (or hobble) walkers. This plant is also known as Witch-Hobble, Moosewood, and Alder-leaved Viburnum. Some field guides list the scientific name of this plant as Viburnum alnifolium.
