Immature Yellow-Bellied Sapsucker is loving our Ash tree to death. Sapsuckers get their name from a distinctive habit of drilling rows of shallow holes in trees and returning regularly to drink the sap and eat any insects that have been attracted. We have adult and juvenile Sapsuckers working on the Ash tree making it easy for photos, but hard on the tree.
