JUST PASSING THROUGH - Cedar Waxwing in Wild Cherry tree. Waxwings live an itinerant life, moving continuously in small flocks in search of ripe fruit. They will stay in an area only as long as the fruit lasts...for now in our cherry trees.
So, I had never seen Cedar Waxwings until I moved to NC.... they are so FUN! Such polite little birds and so busy! They come through for the blue berries on our Cedar trees, start at the top and work their way down chatting away the whole time! I love watching them come through! This is a great picture - thanks!

Cedar waxwings are such elegant birds. I feel privileged each time I see one. Our mulberry tree has attracted many this summer, and I look forward to fall, when they will fatten up on our crabapple tree. One of the many blessings nature offers us each day of our lives: winter, spring, summer, and fall. All that's required of us is to keep our eyes open. Thank you, Paul, for reminding us of this.
