SCARLET TANAGER PREENS - Preening is one of the most essential chores a bird has to do. They can preen up to 10 percent of each day. The main function of preening is to remove parasites and to clean and adjust the feathers. We have occasional Tanager visitors in the Mountain Ash tree - this one yesterday - that brighten our day with a splash of bright red.
