POTD 5/26/20

Black flies are a seasonal annoyance in New England - and they are particularly bad right now. So we especially love the bug eating birds this time of year. Tree Swallows  are among the group of bug eaters known as aerial insectivores. They fly for hours at a time catching small flying insects, including the nasty black flies.

I’ve never seen a swallow like this!! So beautiful - are they related to Purple Martins?
