FIRST IN LINE - A heron chick locks onto the feeding beak to be the first in line to be fed. The chicks are big enough to be left alone while the parent birds hunt.

DEER BUDS - A young male deer, sporting sprouting antler buds, helps himself to new foliage on the Fringe tree in our yard. Deer are attracted to the landscape plants we have introduced into the forest setting (our yard).

PREHISTORIC - A huge turtle stretches out on a beaver lodge in the sun. Turtles are known to live long lives - potentially up to 80 years.

SEE ME SHINE! - A male Ruby-throated Hummingbird on the feeder. Ruby-throated are the only Hummers we have in New Hampshire and we look forward to their return every Spring.

BABY BIRD TIME - Baby Robins waiting to be fed...in a nest in the protection of our solar array.
