PASSING THROUGH - A couple of young deer skirt the yard - maybe because I was standing out there? Now that the snow has melted, the deer that were regulars this winter are not showing up as often.

DRINKIN' - A Chickadee drinks at the bird bath. Birds can drink their body weight in one day, or they can get by with almost no water at all. Spring-like weather in New Hampshire has the birds hitting the water in our bird bath.

FINCH ME - A female Purple Finch on the Finch sock. It's usually the boys that show up first - but in the Purple Finch case, this female beat the boys to the sock.

PHOTOGRAPHIC CARDINAL RULE - As a nature photographer - especially drawn to photographing birds - it is impossible not to shoot a photo when I see a Cardinal. Just one of those things, I guess.

LONELY TOM - A solitary male Turkey has been hanging around the yard, scrounging under the bird feeders. We are used to seeing Turkeys in the Spring - usually several males fanning their tail feathers and strutting their stuff. So far just this guy.
