MONARCH COLORS - The Monarch Butterfly Chrysalis changed colors today. We will be watching it tomorrow to see the Monarch Butterfly emerge!
HORNY - A huge Tomato Hornworm (actually two, look closely) chomps away at one of the few remaining tomatoes in our garden. Tomato hornworms, actually large green caterpillars, get their name from the dark projection on their posterior and their use of tomatoes as a host plant. A hot dry summer and a gang of Tomato Hornworms are bringing our tomato patch to an end.
LATE SUMMER OFFSPRING - Immature Chipping Sparrow begs to be fed. Several smaller birds are feeding young now...even after many other young birds have fledged.
MOUNTAIN VIEW - We got up to the Wapack Trail with our friends today to see Monadnock Mountain. Always nice to catch the view!
