SLIM PICKINS' - A Robin comes up with a tiny grub while pecking in the yard. Robins hunt by hopping or running forward, then standing upright, often cocking its head to one side as if it is listening for worms. Actually they are watching the grass and soil for signs of movement. When they sees signs of activity, they lunge forward, stabbing the soil and gripping the prey.

Nice. Also informative. I had assumed they used sound, but sight makes more sense.
